Dubai Fashion Week SS27
Dubai Fashion Week opened its Spring/Summer 2027 edition on 22 October at Dubai Design District. Running until 26 October, the programme combines runway shows, showroom appointments and industry events.
The opening evening brought together Yousef Aljasmi, Sara Pedram, Pallavi Puri and Krésha Bajaj. Their collections approached occasion dressing through different references, from Persian storytelling to equestrian motifs and intricate beadwork.
A Fashion Week Rooted in Dubai
Dubai Design District and the Arab Fashion Council co-founded Dubai Fashion Week in 2023. The platform developed from Arab Fashion Week, creating a meeting point for regional designers and international labels.
This season takes place at d3, with a programme extending beyond the runway. Showroom appointments give buyers time to examine collections and meet the designers behind them.

Four Shows Open the Season
Kuwaiti designer Yousef Aljasmi opened the evening with crystal-covered dresses and sculpted bodices. Long strands of embellishment added movement, while nude and black looks kept attention on construction and surface detail.
Sara Pedram followed with Simurgh, inspired by Persian mythology and Attar’s The Conference of the Birds. Wing-like shoulders and sculptural shapes translated the collection’s themes of transformation into clothing.
Pallavi Puri presented Beyond Borders, bringing Indian beadwork together with equestrian references. Lisa Haydon opened the show, while Cyrine Abdel Nour closed it in an embellished bridal look.
Krésha Bajaj completed the evening in collaboration with Alok Lodha Jewels. Her collection carried beadwork across daywear and evening pieces, including crochet tops, zebra patterns and elaborate dresses.

Beyond the Runway
The Buyers Programme forms another part of the week’s activity. Through showroom appointments and designer previews, participating labels can meet retailers and discuss potential commercial partnerships.
For emerging brands, these conversations can help turn a runway appearance into a longer relationship. They also give buyers a closer view of materials, finishing and the collections’ retail potential.
What Comes Next
The programme continues through 26 October, with Weinsanto and Tarun Tahiliani among the names still to show. Tahiliani is scheduled to close the week on its final evening.
Visitors can consult the official Dubai Fashion Week calendar for show times and registration. Access varies by event, with some presentations reserved for invited guests.
Opening night introduced four distinct approaches to dressing for an occasion. The days ahead will broaden that picture, bringing more regional and international perspectives to Dubai.
